Take a look at what's NEW to tass

Student UD Areas in the Parent portal

Schools will soon have the ability to make specific User Defined (UD) Areas and associated fields available to parents in the Parent Portal.

With 'View Only' and 'View & Edit' controls, schools can disseminate school-specific data to parents and create customisable forms that can capture and update student records within TASS.web, once reviewed and approved by administration.

For example, the GIF to the right shows a ‘Media Permissions' UD area, allowing Parents to update what social and media platforms their child's photos can be used on. Another use could be for transport details; allowing parents to update the method/route their child takes to and from school.

Bank Rules

Bank Feeds Phase 2 sees the introduction of Bank Feed Rules.

When using the Bank Accounts Dashboard program, this enhanced functionality will help speed up the reconciliation process by supporting the creation of rules for recurring charges and credits, allowing for the automatic creation of Cash Book Journals.

Rules can be created using a combination of:

  • Matching descriptions
  • Matching amounts
  • Transaction type

Enhancements to allow asset creation at invoice entry

Streamline the steps it takes to record the purchase of a new asset with a workflow that will allow for the creation of an asset during invoice entry.

When using the Accounts Payable 'Invoices' program, a new modal screen has been introduced when the asset purchases clearing account is used, allowing users to add the basic details of an asset on the fly, while leaving accounting decisions to those who have access to the Fixed Assets module.

Continuing our support for the online world of Parent Teacher Interviews, new enhancements will allow school administrators to set online meeting links for Parent Teacher Interviews in bulk, as well as set unlimited breaks.

This is supported by the introduction of new email templates that will provide the ability to generate bulk email correspondence containing appointment schedules and online meeting links to parents and students

Workflow to facilitate electronic payments of Student Deposit Refunds

Optimise your school's processes around student deposit refunds with a new workflow that will automate the communication and processing of refunds by electronic payment through the Parent Lounge Portal and Accounts Payable module.

When applying deposit distributions via refund, a new program will allow administrators to create a task that requests and requires parents to enter their bank details for the refund through the Parent Portal.

Once reviewed and approved, refund payments will then be available in the Accounts Payable 'Payment Calculator' ready for the school's next pay run.

Staff kiosk homepage enhancements

Keep your day organised with several changes to the Staff Kiosk Homepage.

Want easy insights into your daily events? The eDiary 'Day' view is now available in the Staff Kiosk Homepage, displaying timetables, the school's calendar and other activities such as events and co-curricular from around the school in a single calendar view.

If you're a teacher that works across multiple timetables, the new 'Current Period' menu will also show you exactly where you need to be based on the current time, regardless of what timetable the current class resides in.

TIP: Not a teacher with a timetable? The 'My Timetable' and 'My Saved Lists' menus are no longer anchored to the top of the menu, meaning you can move the information that is most important to you straight to the top of the list.
