TASS TERM 1 ROUND-UP

CHECK OUT WHAT we've been up to so far this year

TASS has had a busy start to 2023, delivering a range of new and highly requested enhancements, connecting with new integration partners, and attending industry events. Continue reading to learn more about what we have been up to so far this year and what we will be getting up to during Term 2.

SADDLE UP FOR A RECAP OF RECENT RELEASES

Edit leave applications

Payroll users will now be able to edit or cancel leave applications that have been submitted via the Staff Portal, when imported into an active payrun.

To support this, TASS.web users can now be mapped to an employee record, giving staff in the Staff Portal better visibility over who specifically has made changes, and ensuring an accurate audit trail of adjustments.

This is the second phase of our multi-stage Leave Application project, which will ultimately allow users to edit past and approved leave applications, cancel approved leave, and split hours of leave into multiple leave types.

SMS Reminders for Parent-teacher interviews

Reduce the burden on administration staff whilst ensuring parents are ready for Parent-Teacher Interview (PTI) night with automated SMS reminders to parents.

These reminders take advantage of keywords to customise communication, pulling through information such as the date and time of their first PTI session, the teacher, subject and location.

Student UD Areas

Changes to student User Defined (UD) fields are now recorded in the Change Log Grid, giving better oversight over changes in this area of student records.

For Enterprise schools, further enhancements to the UD area functionality allow schools to copy UD information across when a student transfers from one school to another within the group, streamlining the transfer process and reducing the double-handling of data.

Academic Reporting Overhaul - Phase 2

Hot off the press is step 1 of the second phase of our Academic Reporting Overhaul Project.

In Phase 1, we focused on the tools available for setting up and maintaining the Academic Reporting module. In Phase 2, that focus has been shifted to the teacher experience and entry of results and comments.

Phase 2 will be completed in 3 steps. In this first step, webBook's Markbook functionality has been migrated to the Staff Portal, with a new user interface incorporating the key features that teachers are familiar with.

WE'VE RUSTLED UP SOME NEW FRIENDS

We announced 3 new partners to add to our extensive list of Certified Integrations. These partners are fully supported by TASS Customer Care, allowing schools to deploy a ready-made 'off the shelf' solution for their data exchange requirements. Although it may not be warm enough for a day at the beach, you can still swing by the TASS booth to get up to speed on our newest features and services. You can also have a conversation with us about how a modern, web-based solution, complete with a public API program and customer-driven development roadmap, could benefit your school.

TASS Orbit

In development since September 2022, the first of three TASS apps, Parent Orbit, is rapidly approaching its launch date.

The Parent Orbit app has been developed alongside members of our Special Interest Group (SIG), where schools got the chance to participate in design workshops, working alongside us to prioritise and develop features.

It's not long now before the first TASS Orbit app is released to schools - so we've prepared a sneak peek at some of the major features being delivered ahead of the launch. For a more in-depth look at TASS Orbit, check out the link below.
