V55 released with STP2 changes behind the scenes (STP2 not enabled)
STP Phase 2 is an expansion of Single Touch Payroll by the ATO. These changes are aimed at reducing the reporting burden for employers who need to report information about their employees to multiple government agencies, and to support the administration of our social security system.
Changes were introduced behind the scenes in Version 55 to support the new requirements, however, the STP2 enhancements were disabled as the ATO experienced significant delays with the whitelisting and testing process.
As a result of these delays, the ATO has approved a deferral of the STP2 adoption date until 31st March 2022, to allow time for the transition. This deferral applies automatically to all schools currently using TASS Payroll.
Now that TASS has been approved and whitelisted by the ATO, we are opening applications for Early Adopters to pilot the STP2 enhancements and provide feedback.
In summary, these changes include:

Complete the preparation steps in the ‘How to enable Single Touch Payroll Phase 2’ checklist.
Once enabled, you’ll complete your first pay run with STP2 enabled.
Sign a Beta Agreement acknowledging that there may be bugs, and we’ll fix them with the highest priority e.g., hotfixes will be created within the day if deemed necessary.
V55 released with STP2 changes behind the scenes (STP2 not enabled)
TASS became ATO whitelisted for STP2, and received approval for a deferral until 31st March 2022 to allow time for TASS Payroll customers to transition.
Early Adopter sign-up opens.
Early Adopters to complete data preparations, turn on STP2 with TASS and complete a pay run over January/February.
All TASS Payroll customers must be on the latest version, have STP2 enabled, and have completed a pay run.
We strongly advise that you complete the preparation steps in the checklist and turn on STP2 at least 1 week prior to your final pay run in March.
If you are unable to commence Single Touch Payroll Reporting by this date, you will need to apply to the ATO for a separate employer-initiated deferral.
